World Cup final entry ensured by Tons by Virat, Shreyas Iyer and Shami’s 7 wickets

In the first semi-final of the ODI World Cup, host India has defeated New Zealand by 70 runs. Both the teams were face to face once again in the semi-finals after four years. Last time in 2019, the Kiwi team had broken the dreams of crores of Indians and made it to the finals. This time India avenged the previous defeat by defeating New Zealand.

Now the Indian team will play the final in Ahmedabad on 19th November. India will face the winner of the second semi-final between South Africa and Australia. In this match, India won the toss and batted first and scored 397 runs losing four wickets. In response, the Kiwi team could score only 327 runs after losing all the wickets.

World Cup semifinal

India decided to bat first after winning toss. Great inning start by opening pair Skipper Rohit Sharma(47) and Shubman Gill(80*). After that two tons by Virat Kohli(117) and Sheyas Iyer(105) made a concrete way in middle overs. In final overs KL Rahul (39)batting pushes score to 397 runs.

In Second Inning, New Zealand team was unable to good start. They loses both opening batsman Devon Conway(15) and Rachin Ravindra (13) by Indian pacer Mohammed Shami in consecutive overs.


   After these early two losses Skipper Kane Williamson (69) and Daryl Mitchell (134) made a good partnership of 181 runs and keep Indian side under pressure in match. In 33th over Mohammed Shami again Strike with two wickets of Kane Williamson and Tom Latham on duck.


        Daryl Mitchell played really well from one end even feeling cramps in legs but his hundred was not enough to make New zealand win.

          Mohammed Shami was player of the match, he got total seven wickets and become first Indian bowler who got seven wickets in ODI match and he also become first bowler to achieve five-fors four times in ICC world cups. Virat Kohli made fifty of hundreds and surpasses his ideal player Sachin Tendulkar who scored 49 hundreds, Now Virat Kohli become number one in scoring hundreds in ODI matches…
